Get Your Vehicle Ready for Spring!

As the weather begins to get warmer and the colors start to come to life, we often forget about our vehicle's need to be prepared for springtime conditions. Throughout the winter months, vehicles take a beating due to poor road conditions, ice-melting agents, and general wear and tear. That means you might have been putting off service to avoid dealing with driving in subpar road conditions and we can't blame you. But here at Jim Koons Automotive Companies, we want to make sure our customers are taken care of throughout the year! So, be sure to look at the following spring service tips to make sure your car runs smoothly this spring.

Spring Service Tips

  • Check Tires: Tires are your main safety feature, keeping you in control while driving throughout the year. In the spring when the rain showers make the roads slick, having enough tread on your tires is important. It is also a good idea to make sure your tires are rotated throughout the year to let them evenly wear.
  • Oil Change: You should consistently get your oil changed throughout the year and in 3,000-mile intervals as a rule of thumb. But, if you're like many drivers, the cold weather can be a deterrent so be sure you have an oil change as spring rolls in.
  • Belts and Hoses: It's important that your belts are in good shape and your hoses aren’t leaking. The cold weather of winter can cause issues on these car components, so it's a good idea to have them inspected by service specialists.
